Welcome! Thank you for stopping by my blog and reading a little about me!

I’m a wife, mom, teacher and fitness enthusiast navigating the normal every day trying to find a balance between my varying roles while still doing a pretty good job at them all. (Easier said than done, right??) I’m mommy to our handsome son Braxton, who is one year old, a full-time high school Algebra 1 teacher and, yes, wife to Brian Shaw, 4x World’s Strongest Man.

Like most, becoming a mom has turned my world upside down; of course, in the absolute best of ways! But, I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t also presented a ton of challenges, too. One challenge has been my overall health. While trying to get pregnant, throughout my pregnancy and, especially, postpartum, I have spent countless hours searching for the key or step-by-step guide to success for still maintaining (or improving) my health while still being an awesome wife, mom and teacher. Through my own trial and error, I’ve discovered what has not only worked, but what has led me to be the healthiest I’ve ever been – emotionally, mentally and physically.

In all honesty, I never thought I’d feel like ‘me’ again after having a baby. Instead, I feel that I have found a whole new self that I love even more than the pre-pregnancy me. Rediscovering myself, post baby, has been one of the best journeys of my life, and I have my son to thank for that! While Fit Mommy Academy is an ode to my son, the one who helped me discover this part of myself, it is also an amazing tool for all women who struggle with time and knowledge regarding fitness and a healthy diet.
